INSTITUTE OF ENGLISH (IOE) provides intensive training in conversational English using modern methods. ESEC's first program in China, it is designed to effectively train professionals, scholars, undergraduate and graduate students, business executives and government cadres. Every year about 1500 students graduate from our IOE programs.

Modern methods require participation!

Every student actively uses English every day in every class! Teachers enforce a strict "English Only" rule so that the classroom becomes a total English environment. This helps students put English to practice every minute of class.

Class style

ESEC provides a packaged teaching program that includes curriculum and classes in these subjects: Listening, Conversational Fluency, and North American Culture. Class sizes are small so that every student participates. Participation is more important than tests.

Teachers

All ESEC English teachers are trained in TEFL methodology and have experience teaching before coming to China. ESEC teachers are dedicated to helping students and respecting the Chinese culture.
