Educational Services Exchange with China (ESEC) seeks to serve China through education development, focusing on reaching out to China’s Western and impoverished provinces of China. As a Christian organization operating in China we desire that our service and presence in China reflects the spirit of Christ’s love.
ESEC’s invitation by the Chinese government to serve China since 1981, has allowed us to partner with more than 300 Chinese institutions and train approximately 150,000 Chinese participants to date, through English language learning programs, medical education, and services to the disabled.
Through an innovative and highly effective training program called the Total Immersion Program (TIP), ESEC trains English teachers from all over China. Tens of million of children living in China do not have access to proper English education. Given the educational inequality, it is our goal to provide and equip Chinese English teachers to conduct prosperous classrooms for their students; as well as, provide lasting change in their local communities. In 2012 ESEC trained more than 3600 teachers, impacting the lives of not only these individuals, but the lives of their 720,600 students. We long to see the reform of China’s English education system that is inspired by the idea that everybody can learn English successfully, despite someone’s demographics’ social class or education.
"Over the course of three decades, China has experienced a degree of change which is considered revolutionary, both in its scope and in its record-breaking pace. We are privileged indeed to have been an inspired observer and a joyful participant."
Dr. Danny Yu, Founder of ESEC
Our primary ministry is meeting educational needs in the spirit of Christ’s love. Over the last thirty years, we have developed an excellent international reputation as a Christian service organization.
By God's grace we humbly seek to open doors for Christians to explore God's calling to serve in China. Our objective is to advance our students' educational skills and career development. Our prayer is that through our lives, service and words, others will experience the love of God.
